Porphyry Cubes and Cobblestone
Cubes, also Cobble Stones
Porphyry cobblestones have been the most popular throughout the ages.
The surface is natural cleft, comfortable to walk on, but yet non slippery. Sides are split and allow for close joints.
AVAILABLE TYPES:
IRREGULAR . Irregular cubes are irregular in shape: variable thickness, but also irregular visible face. They are best used to perform installations in overlapping arches, fish-scale, concentric circles, because their irregularity allows them to adapt to circular lines while reducing the joint size. As opposite, they are NOT suitable to be installed in parallel rows.
TYPE 4” x 4” : When the installation is in parallel rows, irregular cubes cannot be used because their size is variable and the joint would be too big. Indeed the use of square, 4″x4″ cubes is recommended
AVAILABLE THICKNESS:
2” : The 2” thickness is best used on private areas, like driveways, motor courts, pedestrian areas, courtyards, gardens, etc.
3” : The 3” thickness is suitable for any purpose, either for pedestrian areas or for public areas with medium traffic.
4” : The 4” thickness is particularly suited to extensive surfaces and public streets with heavy traffic.

Tiles – Natural Surface
Their surface is natural cleft of the porphyry slabs from which they are cut. Tiles are available in different colors, and in different thicknesses and sizes. Their best use is for paving and cladding both internal and external surfaces.
Specified by Architects worldwide in new applications as well as in restorations, they are the selection of choice for residential application, plazas, streets, sidewalks, arcades, and more.
They are available both in split edges and sawn edges; in both cases their thickness varies from a min to a max value.
Available Colors: Porphyry from Trentino (Mixed Brown or Camparta Red) – Porfiris from Argentina (Grey or Mixed Red)

Tiles – Machined Surface
Tiles with a machined surface are porphyry tiles obtained by cutting compact porphyry blocks. The surface and thickness has been calibrated in order to be more refined and regular.
These tiles can be obtained in different sizes and thickness and are available in different colors, which is more uniform than the natural surface.
They are particularly recommended for high quality residential and commercial applications such as home interiors, banks, hotels, museums, office centers, etc. where an innovative and new material is wanted. They all have sawn edges and a uniform thickness.

Irregular slabs – Flagstones
What is normally intended as flagstone is an irregular slab coming directly from the selection of the quarry material. These polygonal shaped slabs have natural surface, variable thickness and rough edges. They are distinguished by their sizes and thickness.
It is normally used for paving external areas such as garden pathways, motor courts
AVAILABLE TYPES:
GIANT TYPE – Used for any kind of paving, whatever the traffic intensity is. It is very good looking for garden pathways when installed in sand.
GIANT THIN TYPE – Used mostly for private residential motor courts, pool decks, and paving of balconies, courtyards, pathways, pedestrian areas, gardens pathways. This type is not suitable for areas with a lot of traffic.
SUPER GIANT TYPE – Laid down usually on sand in places such as gardens, paths, parks, etc.: the green coming out between the slabs always creates a very attractive look. It is ideal for green pathways.

Smolleri
The principal use of this product is for paving steep slopes and raised garages entrance areas, or for covering pillars or walls to give them a rustic appearance. In the first instance, they are laid in a perpendicular position, in the second, they are laid flat. The top surface and the two sides are split, and the two sides have a natural surface.

Curbstones
Installed vertically, curbstones can be used for shaping path-ways, flower-beds and as curbs of paved areas.
There are various types of curbstones, which are distinguished by the shape of the top face and sides; the joints can be either split or sawn.
Shaping Available: Split head and natural front Or Flamed head and flamed front.

Binders
Being and extremely versatile product, the binder is used either to contain or mark the edge of paved areas, plazas, streets, etc. or to shape flower-beds, traffic islands and gardens. Alternatively, it can be used to face low walls and steps. Its upper surface is natural and its sides are split at right-angle to the plane.

And Coping Stones
These items are obtained from large slabs with natural surface and varying thicknesses. Two main types are available: split edges or sawn edges. The first ones, more rustic, are suitable for gardens, and are obtained by splitting the edges, with a selection of the thickness. The second ones, more finished and more elegant looking, are instead obtained by the sawing of the slabs with further calibration of the visible edges, in order to obtain a more uniform thickness. Upon request the following types of edge finishes are possible: split, flamed, owl’s beak and bull nose (flamed or polished).

Steps, Window Sills – Machine Surface
These items can also be obtained by sawing porphyry blocks. In contrast to the items with a natural surface, they have a uniform thickness and their surface has been shaped either by flaming, honing or polishing, according to the desired final effect. These are the most refined and elaborated products, qualified for the most challenging and prestigious applications for both external (recommended: flamed) and internal use (recommended: flamed, polished,semi-polished, honed).
The edges are usually sawn, although other workings are also possible, like flamed edge, flamed or polished bull-nose, half-bull-nose, split-edge.

Riverrocks
River-rocks have a long history as a paving material, mostly because they were available without any further processing: just the selection of size and color. Nowadays, they are used both for paving and for wall cladding, even though the first use is mostly to complement sidewalks, or pathways. As a wall cladding option, they are usually split in two halves and installed with the split face visible.
